This website is operated by SLC Network LLC, doing business as Empowerment Lectures Chicago ("ELC"), which funds and manages advertising for these events and sends event-related text messages and calls as described below. The lectures and seminars are presented by the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation ("HDF"), located at 650 S. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60605, which communicates with registrants by email. In this Privacy Policy, HDF and ELC are referred to together as "we," "our," or "us."

1.3. By registering for a lecture or using this website, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1.4. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is the one that applies, and we will update the effective date above when changes are made.

2. Who we are

2.1. HDF presents lectures, seminars, books, and courses based on Dianetics, developed by L. Ron Hubbard. HDF is a name under which the Church of Scientology Chicago, a religious organization located in Chicago, Illinois, does business. HDF presents the lectures and seminars promoted on this page and communicates with registrants by email.

2.2. ELC is an affiliated organization. It operates this website, funds and manages advertising for these events, and communicates with registrants by text message and telephone, where they have consented.

2.3. The two organizations work together to promote and deliver these events and share registrant information as described in Section 4.

3. Information we collect

3.1. Information you provide. When you register for a lecture, we collect your first and last name, email address, and mobile phone number. If you contact us by email or telephone, we keep a record of that correspondence, including your name, contact details, and the content of your message.

3.2. Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and geographic location, and information about your browsing, such as the pages you view, the links you click, and the site you came from. We also record whether you open our emails.

3.3. We do not collect financial account numbers, payment card information, or bank details through this website. Our lectures are free, and no payment is processed here.

4. How your information is used and shared

4.1. When you register, your information is stored in HDF's contact database and used by the two affiliated organizations, each for a specific purpose:

• Your email address is used by HDF, which sends you registration confirmations, reminders, event details, and — where you have consented — information about future lectures and related offerings, using its email service provider (Brevo).
• Your mobile phone number is provided to ELC, which sends you text messages and calls about the lecture you registered for and future lectures, where you have consented, using its messaging provider (CallMultiplier).
• Your name is used to support registration and plan events, and your contact information may be used in hashed form to measure and improve our advertising, as described in Section 7.

4.2. If you attend a lecture or obtain books or services from HDF, you may become a contact of HDF, and HDF may thereafter also contact you by text message using its own messaging system, consistent with the consent you have given.

4.3. Both organizations may contact you only in accordance with the specific consents you provide at registration. You choose separately whether to receive text messages and calls and whether to receive emails.

4.4. We also use your information to respond to your questions and requests, to maintain records of your consent, to perform statistical analysis to improve our website and events, and to comply with our legal obligations.

5. We do not sell your information

5.1. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Apart from the sharing between the two affiliated organizations described above, and the service providers described in Section 6, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5.2. We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, or in response to a valid request from law enforcement or a governmental authority.

6. Service providers

6.1. We use third-party service providers to operate and host this website, deliver email (Brevo), deliver text messages and calls (CallMultiplier), and measure website use and advertising performance. These providers process your information only to perform services on our behalf, under our instruction, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

7. Advertising and tracking technologies

7.1. We use cookies and similar technologies on this website, including the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API, and we may use Google Analytics. These tools tell us how visitors found and used our site, let us measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and let us show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

7.2. Some of this information is shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. and, where Google Analytics is used, with Google LLC. Where contact information such as your email address or phone number is used for advertising measurement, it is converted into an irreversible coded form (hashed) before it is transmitted.

7.3. You can decline non-essential tracking using the cookie notice on this website, and you can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect how parts of this site work. You can also manage your ad preferences within Facebook and Instagram.

8. Text messages and calls

8.1. If you consent to receive text messages and calls, you will receive them from ELC and, if you become an HDF contact, from HDF. These messages may include event reminders, updates, and information about future lectures and courses, and are sent using automated technology.

8.2. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You may also opt out by contacting us at [email protected], and we will honor opt-out requests received by any reasonable method.

8.3. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with unaffiliated third parties for their marketing purposes. It is shared only between the two affiliated organizations named in this policy and with the messaging provider that delivers messages on our behalf.

9. Email

9.1. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop messages directly related to a lecture you have already registered for, unless you ask to be removed entirely.

10. Your rights and choices

10.1. At any time, you may:

• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email;
• Stop text messages by replying STOP, or by contacting us;
• Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• Request that we correct inaccurate information;
• Request that we delete your information.
